Responsibilities:
Perform regular inspections of plant equipment and well fields to ensure peak performance and immediate detection of mechanical flaws.
Collect water samples and conduct laboratory analysis (including pH and chlorine residual testing) to maintain safety standards.
Regulate water levels in reservoirs by managing pumps and valves; handle the safe replacement of chlorine cylinders and bleach tank refills.
Preventive Maintenance: Execute mechanical and electrical servicing for motors, pumps, and specialized machinery to prevent downtime.
Accurately read meters, gauges, and dials to maintain meticulous operational logs and inventory records for spare parts.
Supervise and mentor operator trainees, ensuring they follow proper safety and operational protocols.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional plant environment through general custodial and grounds upkeep.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
Deep understanding of modern water treatment principles, including chemical processes and the servicing requirements of high-capacity machinery.
Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions, maintain working relationships with the public, and exercise sound judgment under pressure.

Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Class ???C??? Water Operator???s License and a clean Florida Driver???s License.
Proven ability to operate large trucks and heavy construction equipment; background in mechanical or electrical trades is highly preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required. Preference will be given to candidates with college-level coursework in Chemistry, Mathematics, Hydraulics, or Biology.
