Perform high-quality Welding on heavy steel plates, structural beams, tanks, and assemblies according to engineering drawings and standard operating procedures. Set up, adjust, and maintain FCAW welding equipment, including wire feeders, shielding gas mixtures, voltage, amperage, and wire feed speed settings. Inspect finished welds using visual inspection methods to ensure compliance with AWS structural codes and quality standards. Prepare metal surfaces prior to welding by grinding, cutting, beveling, and removing debris or rust. Operate overhead cranes, positioners, angle grinders, plasma cutters, and oxy-fuel torches safely in a fast-paced fabrication environment. Perform fit-up and tack welding of sub-assemblies according to precise blueprinted tolerances. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work space, adhering strictly to OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times. Collaborate with quality control inspectors and supervisors to troubleshoot defect issues and optimize weld efficiency.
