Tacking Essential Functions:Assembles sheet and structural components necessary to make fuel tanks using MIG short circuit mode welding.Verifies tank corresponds to the mechanical drawing and welds all internal structures.Places sufficient tack welds to ensure seams remain intact during the full welding process.Repeatedly tacks the product producing repeatable final physical dimensions.Robot Operator Essential Functions:Uses MIG or TIG welding processes to weld on mounting brackets and attach fittings per drawings.Inspects robot-welded products; utilizes TIG and MIG processes to repair cosmetic or functional flaws.Uses stud-welding equipment to weld studs and testintegrity.Monitors robot welder for process problems (gas, wirefeed, weld path issues).Welding Essential Functions:Manually welds previously tacked steel fuel tanks utilizing MIG short circuit and pulsed spray transfer processes.Reads and interprets mechanical drawings; performs first article quality control checks.Welds with a steady hand, speed, and quality to meet production standards for cosmetic/non-cosmetic products.Sets up, adjusts, and maintains appropriate welding parameters on assigned welding machines.Metal Prep Welder Essential Functions:Welds predominantly thin wall, coated steel tubing, (may include uncoated steel, stainless, aluminum) with MIG/TIG.Repairs leaks with MIG or TIG processes and removes weld spatter as dictated by quality requirements.Locates correct fixturing called out on mechanical drawings used for tacking small parts.Works with Engineering to develop/fabricate fixturing for new products or continuous improvement.

Environment: Manufacturing atmosphere with temperatures ranging from 60-75F (extreme cold 50F, extreme heat 105F).Time spent inside for 8 hours; outside hours rare.Physical Tasks: Tank preparation, grasping small hand tools, using MIG/TIG welder, pushing/pulling product andequipment. Uses fine manipulation for fixtures. Vision, tactile feedback, and auditory awareness necessary for safety.Safety Requirements: Observe safe work methods; use appropriate safety equipment and Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE). Fulfill all job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Must be proficient in MIG welding (both full welding and tack welding). Robot Operators must be proficient in TIG AND MIG.Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings, written instructions, and weld symbology.Certification in welding, and previous experience in welding sheet metal and programming Fanuc Welding Robots preferred.
