Are you a technical problem-solver who enjoys the intersection of high-tech automation and hands-on craftsmanship? We are seeking a Plasma Spray Technician to join an elite manufacturing team supporting the Aerospace, Nuclear, and Industrial sectors. This isn't a "button-pusher" role-you will be the master of the flame and the robot. You'll take raw components and apply high-performance thermal coatings using Yaskawa Motoman (DX100/NX100) robotics and advanced plasma equipment. If you take pride in precision and want to work on parts that power jet engines and nuclear reactors, we want to talk to you.
...
Responsibilities:
Precision Execution: Set up and operate plasma spray coating booths and CNC/robotic cells to fabricate high-spec aerospace and nuclear parts.
Automation Management: Program and maneuver Yaskawa Motoman DX100 and NX100 robots to ensure perfect coating distribution.
Technical Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of job parameters, run times, and quality results to meet strict industry standards.
Workflow Integration: Independently prioritize tasks based on changing production needs and deadlines.
Operational Excellence: Utilize metal-working equipment, furnaces, and open flames safely; maintain a clean workspace using 5S standards.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in team efforts to refine processes and increase efficiency within the coating department.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Various Shifts Available)
Skills:
Specialized Certifications: Prior experience with HVOF, Plasma Spray, or Nadcap accredited processes.
Advanced Robotics: Ability to "teach" robot points or troubleshoot Yaskawa pendant errors.
Measurement Mastery: High proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and ultrasonic thickness gauges.
Lean Mindset: Demonstrated experience with 5S or Six Sigma environments.
Education: Some college or technical certification in Robotics, Welding Technology, or Materials Science.
Education:
No Degree Required
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Experience: 2+ years in a technical manufacturing environment (Thermal Spray, Welding, or CNC Machining).
Robotics: Practical experience operating industrial robots (specifically Yaskawa/Motoman preferred).
Technical Literacy: Ability to read blueprints, follow complex "run sheets," and record data accurately.
Physical Capability: Must be comfortable working around high-heat equipment (flames/furnaces) and able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
