Local Entrepreneur Focuses on Closing Hiring Gaps and Strengthening Business-Talent Connections
LIVERMORE, Calif. — As businesses across Alameda County navigate ongoing workforce challenges, Spherion Staffing & Recruiting (Spherion) has officially opened its doors in Livermore, bringing a locally owned, nationally backed staffing resource to the region. Led by entrepreneur Mike Sawari, the new office aims to connect employers and job seekers through workforce solutions tailored to the needs of the local market.
Mike brings more than 25 years of experience spanning technology, healthcare, financial services, and general staffing. A Silicon Valley entrepreneur, he has founded and led multiple ventures while building workforce and technology solutions for organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. His background includes experience supporting brands such as Apple, Wells Fargo, Williams-Sonoma, American Eagle, and Sutter Health. Most recently, Mike led business development for a global IT consulting and staffing firm, further strengthening his expertise in enterprise workforce strategy.
“Even with all the conversations around automation and AI, hiring is still about people,” said Mike, who previously served for eight years in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Combat Medic, an experience that shaped his people-first approach to leadership. “Employers need partners who understand their culture, their pace of business, and the personalities that will thrive on their teams. At the same time, job seekers deserve more than a resume submission. They deserve guidance, advocacy, and real opportunity. That’s the role we’re stepping into here in Alameda County.”
Following a soft opening in January, the Livermore office has already begun partnering with local workforce organizations to support hiring efforts across the region. In collaboration with the Tri-Valley Career Center, Mike and his team were present in multiple community job fairs, with additional hiring events scheduled for March 11 and March 17. A grand opening celebration is planned for March 24 in partnership with the Livermore Chamber of Commerce. Spherion is a member of both the Livermore and Dublin Chambers of Commerce, reinforcing its commitment to building strong relationships within the local business community. The office is located at 4049 1st Street, Suite 123, in Livermore, near the city’s downtown corridor.

The Livermore office will operate under Spherion’s general and professional staffing model, supporting employers across light industrial, administrative, manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare support roles. From day one, Mike has invested in building an experienced leadership and recruiting team, including Operations Director Rona Noory, to ensure a strong foundation for growth and service delivery.
Looking ahead, Mike plans to further integrate Spherion into the fabric of the community through partnerships with local workforce development initiatives, social services organizations, and higher education institutions, including Las Positas College.
