Salary: $65k-$78K annually

Responsibilities:
General Ledger Ownership & Financial Reporting:
-Financial Statement Preparation: Independently prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure absolute accuracy and strict GAAP compliance.
-Full-Cycle GL Management: Own, analyze, and reconcile complex general ledger accounts; investigate underlying transactions to identify, trace, and resolve financial discrepancies.
-Accounts Payable Oversight: Oversee AP activity verification, authorization, and coding to ensure proper GL mapping rather than routine transaction entry.
Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting:
-Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis on monthly financial results, identifying trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational insights for leadership.
-Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Partner with the Finance Director to build, monitor, and refine budgets and financial models across departments.
-Strategic Reporting: Deliver detailed account analyses to support executive business decisions and long-term financial strategy.
Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit Support:
-Control Enhancement: Support the design, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
-Audit Leadership: Lead internal and external audit preparation by compiling audit schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and serving as a key liaison to auditors.
-Process Optimization: Proactively identify inefficiencies in current accounting systems, proposing and executing workflow improvements.

Experience:

Qualifications:
-Bachelor???s degree or higher required in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (with a concentrated emphasis in Accounting or Finance).
-Experience: 2+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of GL accounts and financial statement preparation. (Candidates with heavy transactional backgrounds must demonstrate direct GL, variance analysis, and GAAP application).
-Technical Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, financial modeling, complex formulas) and experience using NetSuite or a comparable ERP/accounting system (Financial Services or Fintech background is a strong plus).
-Financial Acumen: Deep working knowledge of GAAP, complex journal entries, audit preparation, and budgeting/forecasting exposure.
-Problem-Solving Mindset: Exceptional analytical skills with a proven track record of independently investigating discrepancies and driving process improvements without requiring constant supervision.
