Spherion is looking for an Accounting Coordinator for our manufacturing client! This position requires knowledge of Accounts Payable practices. This includes working with an unvouchered report and follow-up organization of non-processed invoices, as well as email management of electronic invoices received. The role involves coordinating financial data under the direction of the Accounting Assistant Manager.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and organize email and electronic invoice files.
Vouch invoices against receipts.
Vouch invoices for non-receipt using General Ledger with sign-offs.
Create, voucher, and process debit memos for NG/Sorts chargebacks.
Reconcile vendor statements and perform necessary follow-up.
Execute all payment runs.
Perform credit card maintenance and enter journal entries.
Complete month-end closing requirements as assigned.
Assist with annual and semi-annual audit preparation.
Interact with co-workers and outside vendors.
Maintain organized recordkeeping and a clean working environment.
Seek to improve processes and procedures continuously.
Promote a safe working environment for all associates.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested by management.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Japanese business practices.
Continuing education to stay current with changes in GAAP.

Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Accounting or Business.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, specifically in Accounts Payable, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
Specific knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Solid interpersonal and team environment skills.
Time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
Valid driver's license for occasional travel.
