Responsibilities:
Operate band saws to cut steel materials to specified lengths, angles, and tolerances
Read and interpret blueprints, cut lists, and fabrication drawings
Use measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and gauges to verify accuracy
Inspect materials for defects and ensure cuts meet quality standards
Maintain saw blades, guides, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
Stage, organize, and label materials for downstream fabrication processes
Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and shop protocols
Work collaboratively with welders, machine operators, and production leads to meet daily goals
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Skills:
Experience cutting specialty or high?grade steels
Familiarity with overhead cranes, forklifts, or material?handling equipment
Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and fabrication shop standards
Education:
No Degree Required
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment
Understanding of fabrication shop safety and workflow
Ability to read blueprints, cut sheets, and technical drawings
Proficiency with measurement tools and ability to hold tight tolerances
Reliable work history and attention to detail
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet in a production environment
