In this role, you will work under general supervision to plan, layout, and finish high-precision sheet metal parts. Responsibilities:
Technical Fabrication: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine the proper sequence for fabricating and assembling sheet metal products.
Precision Finishing: Perform all deburring operations; remove burrs and sharp edges using hand tools, files, and edge breakers.
Equipment Operation: Use air/electric equipment, abrasive disks, bench grinders, rotary files, drill presses, and "jitterbug" sanders to smooth surfaces.
Inspection & Quality: Control part thickness to close tolerances of +/-.002 using ultrasonic gages, micrometers, calipers, and scales.
Post-Process Cleaning: Strip remaining maskant and silastic from finished chemical-milled parts.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure the proper handling and management of hazardous waste in the work area and adhere to all specific safety policies..
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Skills:
Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, shop drawings, and chemical-mill templates.
Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
Technical Communication: Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in small group settings.
Critical Thinking: Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and resolve standardized production variables.

Physical Ability: Comfortable with manual labor, lifting materials, and working in a manufacturing shop environment.
