Responsibilities:
- Identify and harvest birch trees (diameter of 3" and under) according to specific project guidelines.
- Fell and delimb trees efficiently using brush saws, loppers, or small chainsaws.
- Organize harvested timber into stable, space-efficient piles to streamline transport and inventory management.
- Follow sustainable harvesting practices to minimize environmental impact and maintain forest health.
- Maintain a "safety first" mindset, strictly utilizing PPE and following OSHA logging standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to perform repetitive manual labor, including lifting, bending, and walking on uneven forest terrain for extended periods.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to safely operate basic forestry tools such as brush saws, loppers, or small chainsaws.
- Ability to accurately judge tree diameter to ensure only the specified 3" and smaller trees are harvested.
- Basic understanding of tree health and sustainable harvesting practices.
- Prior training in OSHA logging safety standards or First Aid/CPR.
- Skill in stacking timber efficiently to maximize space and ensure stability of the piles.
