Saginaw, MI | Full-Time | In-Person
Compensation: $18-25/hr depending on experience.
Are you a skilled craftsman who enjoys the variety of both shop-based fabrication and field-based installation? We are seeking a versatile Cabinet Builder & Commercial Furniture Lead to join our Saginaw team. This role is perfect for someone with a background in carpentry who excels at building custom pieces and can lead the seamless installation of commercial workstations. Hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
...
Responsibilities:
- Build high-quality cabinetry and custom furniture pieces from blueprints and technical drawings.
- Lead and execute the assembly and teardown of commercial workstations, office systems, and integrated furniture.
- Assist in the careful transport, loading, and unloading of furniture and millwork to ensure zero damage during client moves.
- Adjust and trim cabinetry or furniture on-site to ensure a perfect fit in diverse commercial environments.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to achieve fine-finish quality while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
- Act as a professional representative on-site, ensuring workstations are built to spec and the client's expectations are met.
Skills:
A positive attitude toward "move days" which require logistical thinking and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in cabinetry, finish carpentry, or commercial furniture installation. Experience with specific office furniture brands (modular systems) is a significant plus.
- Proficiency with table saws, miter saws, routers, and specialized assembly tools.
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture components and cabinetry; comfortable with frequent standing, bending, and loading tasks.
- A sharp eye for alignment, leveling, and finishing details.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites around the Saginaw area.
Why This Role?
This isn't your average "bench" carpentry job. You'll be the bridge between our design concepts and the client's reality, moving from building custom cabinets in the shop to managing the logistics of large-scale commercial furniture builds and relocations.
