        A Bay City Area metal manufacturer is seeking reliable Chippers, Grinders, and General Laborers to join their company. They would ideally like to hire associates after a 90-day probationary period has been completed and a positive attendance record has been demonstrated. There are currently openings on both 1st ($11.00/hr) and 2nd shifts ($11.20/hr). 1st shift is 6:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday with overtime possible on Saturdays (5am-11am). 2nd shift is from 3:30pm-1:00am Monday-Friday with the possibility of overtime on Saturday (11am-5pm).Responsibilities:Grinds and smooths surfaces of work pieces using powered portable wheel or disc grinder.Examines and feels surface of work piece for defects.Starts grinder and moves it over surface of work piece to remove scratches, metal, excess weld materials, and burs.Positions and manually guides tool along specified guidelines on edge or surface of work piece.Grinds and chips work piece to groove, bevel, round, or straighten edges or removes excess stock from metal as specified by drawings, job orders, or guidelines, or to remove defects, such as shrink cracks and holes, using portable grinders, chipping hammers, and hand files.Grinds chips or brushes off excess weld, splatter, and rust to improve appearance of work piece.
