Responsibilities:
Select and set up nozzles and cutting tips based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
Load materials onto the laser and secure fixtures
Monitor the laser cutting process and make adjustments as needed
Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure accuracy and dimensional tolerances
Working hours: 4:30 PM - 4:30 AM
Skills:
Maintain equipment
Clean and organize the work area
Adhere to all safety protocols related to operating heavy machinery, including proper use of personal protective equipment
Knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
A good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and quality control measures
Basic computer skills for operating machine controls
Must be able to work well with others
Basic knowledge in G-CODE.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Work performed in a shop environment
Environment is not climate controlled
May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from station to another during the assembly process
The noise level in the work environment, at times, can be loud
Education:
High School
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of experience on Mazak, Trumpf, Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines.
Solid background working with sheet metal.
Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
Ability to distinguish material types including Steel, A36, SSAB, Grade50, Stainless Steel and other types of metals.
Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as overtime and weekend work from time to time.
Candidate has to be a team player.
Candidate has to be reliable.
Regularly required to lift/carry 20 to 40 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently
Regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel and reach
Regularly required to stand and walk
Regularly required to push or pull objects up to 40 pounds
