The Experienced CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating a variety of conventional and computer-numeric controlled machines to produce precision parts. Key duties include reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files; performing quality control inspections; troubleshooting machining issues; and maintaining production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of machining experience, including at least 3 years of CNC programming using MasterCAM and Mazak Mazatrol, and demonstrated expertise in tight-tolerance machining of various materials, including stainless steel. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Overtime and Weekends if required)
Start Pay based on experience: $25 to $35/per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Reads blueprints, sketches, specifications, or CAD and SolidWorks files for making tools and dies.
- Interprets technical drawings and produces quality parts to specifications.
- Computes and verifies dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces.
- Programs, sets up, operates, and disassembles conventional, manual, and computer-numeric controlled machine tools to perform a variety of machining operations in a diversified line of work.
- Plans and selects feeds, speeds, and tooling for all machine tools.
- Plans and selects work holding set-ups, tooling, cutting sequences and depth of cuts.
- Operates manual mills and lathe machines.
- Deburs parts and performs quality control inspections.
- Sets up and operates drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly.
- Consistently follows documentation requirements for machine logs, parts logs, work order travelers and any other required paperwork.
- Maintains and improves quality. Checks own work, which is subject to fit, performance and sample audits by other Machinists.
- Troubleshoots machining issues and maintains production efficiency.
- Recommends new tooling to improve efficiency, life or part quality.
- Works independently and as part of a team.
- Takes initiative beyond basic tasks.
- May be required to assist machine operators and other employees assigned to the Machine Shop.
- May assist in training, coaching, or providing limited direction to CNC Operators or other shop workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications:
- Education: Technical instruction and on-the-job training. High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in CNC programming (3+ years preferred), Master CAM software, Mazak Mazatrol required, including initial setups, writing programs and producing parts to exacting requirements. Machining experience of at least 5 years. Experience working with stainless steel preferred. Tight tolerance machining experience required. Demonstrated dependability and punctuality with an excellent work ethic. Familiarity with applicable ISO procedures and safety standards.
- Must be able to work at both locations located in Leesburg and Tavares.
