The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift in a cold environment (-15 to 40 deg F) for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise. The Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient use of the vehicle. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. Responsibilities also include selecting orders, conducting checks and inventory verification, maintaining tidiness, and loading and unloading trucks as necessary.
Working hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Skills:
Would prefer someone with Cold and Forklift Experience if possible.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, etc.) in confined spaces.
Ability to perform pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
Skill in maneuvering forklifts safely and efficiently in cold and often slippery environments.
Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of safety gear and load handling.
Awareness of surroundings and other personnel in a busy warehouse setting.
Ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with cold storage environments (ice, condensation, etc.).
Understanding of proper stacking and storage techniques to prevent damage and accidents.
