Spherion CT is seeking a dependable and motivated Converting Operator to support production operations for our client, Web Industries in Hartford, CT. The Converting Operator will work on manufacturing lines to convert raw materials into finished products, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety at all times. Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor converting machinery according to standard work instructions and production schedules.
Convert materials to work order specifications, including roll changes, tension adjustments, and line speed control.
Execute trials and record production results accurately.
Perform quality checks during production and ensure finished products meet specifications.
Complete production and quality documentation clearly and legibly.
Troubleshoot basic machine issues and communicate maintenance needs.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment; follow all safety protocols.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce waste.
Assist with training of new operators as needed.
Working hours: Various Shifts Available
Skills:
Experience operating converting, extrusion, coating, or related production equipment.
Forklift experience or certification.
Experience with flexible materials or in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
1???2 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Attention to detail and ability to follow complex work instructions.
Basic computer skills (e.g., email, data entry, Microsoft Office).
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50???75 pounds, depending on duty.
Team???oriented attitude with good communication skills.
