The Culinary Server is responsible for providing exceptional, dignified, and timely dining service to the residents of our senior living community. This role ensures a high-quality dining experience by preparing the dining room, serving meals with courtesy and efficiency, and maintaining a clean, sanitary, and pleasant environment. The Server must adhere to all sanitation and safety standards, follow specific dietary instructions, and interact with residents in a warm, respectful, and engaging manner.

Responsibilities:
Dining Service and Resident Interaction:
Prepare the dining room for all meals, including setting tables with appropriate linens, silverware, glassware, and condiments.
Greet residents and guests warmly, assisting them with seating as needed.
Present menus and accurately take resident food and beverage orders, paying close attention to any dietary restrictions, allergies, or physician-ordered diets (e.g., pureed, low-sodium, diabetic).
Serve meals and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring proper food temperature and presentation.
Monitor dining area and anticipate resident needs throughout the meal service.
Bus tables and reset for the next meal service or event.
Sanitation and Maintenance:
Clear and clean tables, ensuring a sanitary environment.
Wash dishes, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils as required, following established dishwashing procedures.
Clean and maintain dining room floors, surfaces, and equipment (e.g., coffee machines, warmers).
Assist in stocking and organizing inventory of dry goods, beverages, and supplies.
Adhere strictly to all local and state health, sanitation, and food handling regulations.
Teamwork and Safety:
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding resident orders, meal pacing, and special requests.
Attend all required in-service training and staff meetings.
Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or resident concerns/changes in condition to the supervisor immediately.
Maintain a professional and positive demeanor at all times when interacting with residents, families, and staff.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or senior living environment preferred but not required.
Ability to read, write, and understand dietary instructions and menus.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler's permit/card as required by local regulations.
Strong customer service skills with a genuine desire to work with and serve older adults.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs.), and move quickly for extended periods.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or senior living environment preferred but not required.
