The Professional Division of Spherion Mid-Ohio is partnered with an established and growing construction company in Richland County is seeking a Custom Fabrication Manager with a pay range from $36- $40 an hour + Bonus based on skill set & experience. Come join their team!

The Custom Fabrication Manager –is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring all fabricated work meets design intent, quality standards, and project schedules. This role provides leadership across production, staffing, training, and installation support while serving as the steward of shop culture and performance.
Responsibilities of the Custom Fabrication Manager:
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for fabrication shop operations
- Oversee fabrication and installation of custom casework, millwork, countertops, solid surface materials, and specialty components
- Manage exhibit fabrication projects, including museum and interactive builds that may involve research, prototyping, and custom architectural solutions
- Plan, schedule, and sequence shop work to meet production timelines and project deadlines
- Lead by example with hands-on involvement in fabrication across all build types
- Supervise shop leadership staff and support skill development through coaching and mentoring
- Ensure all work meets industry standards, project specifications, and quality expectations
- Support onboarding and training of new shop personnel
- Apply finishes such as stains, varnishes, paints, and lacquers as needed
- Install hardware and accessories using appropriate tools and techniques
- Assist with installation efforts when required, including travel to job sites
- Promote and maintain a safe, efficient, and organized shop environment
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of experience in casework and/or countertop fabrication
- Proven experience leading or supervising shop operations
- CNC router and edge bander experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of fabrication methods, materials, and finishes
- Ability to read and execute from drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions
- Willingness to travel to job sites, including occasional overnight stays
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
