Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Die Setter to join our team as a Direct Hire in a powdered metal manufacturing facility. As a Die Setter, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient production by installing, adjusting, and maintaining tooling and compaction equipment. Responsibilities:
- Set up and install dies, punches, tooling, and mechanical components on compaction presses.
- Perform changeovers following production schedules and job specifications.
- Verify tooling alignment, press functions, and part quality before releasing jobs to production.
- Troubleshoot setup issues and make necessary mechanical adjustments.
- Work closely with machine operators to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
- Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning on tooling, presses, and related equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Document setup parameters, issues, and adjustments as required.
Education: No formal education required.
Experience: 12 months
Skills:
- Previous experience as a die setter, tool & die technician, or similar role in a powdered metal or precision manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of compaction presses.
- Ability to read blueprints, production specifications, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators).
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.
