Responsibilities:
As a Dispatcher, you will coordinate delivery schedules and maintain open lines of communication with the transportation team during the afternoon and evening hours. Your core duties will include:
Driver Support: Communicating with truck drivers via computers, telephones, and two-way radios to provide real-time updates regarding traffic, route changes, and inclement weather.
Scheduling and Tracking: Assigning drivers to vehicles and monitoring their progress along routes using logistics technology to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
Documentation: Checking drivers in and out of terminals and accurately transferring trip records into the company filing system.
Logistics Calculation: Determining travel times, route efficiencies, and mileage for the fleet to help manage delivery costs.
Customer Service: Interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and team members to resolve questions or complaints efficiently.
Working hours: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Skills:
Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation operations.
Familiarity with the local Temple, Texas geographic area and major shipping routes.
Experience utilizing two-way radios or fleet tracking technology.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new routing or dispatch software.
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and solve problems in a timely manner.
Flexibility to work the designated evening schedule and rotating Saturdays.
