Are you a construction professional who loves the outdoors, hates being stuck in the same shop every day, and wants to build a career on the water?
Our client, a global leader in marina design and construction, is looking for Dock Installers to join their team! You can live anywhere in the state of Florida, provided you have reliable transportation and a true "road warrior" mindset.
...
In this role, you will travel across the state-with the potential to work along the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and even the Caribbean-assembling and installing premium floating docks and marina infrastructure. If you have a solid construction background, aren't afraid of hard work in the sun, and want your travel entirely paid for, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Build Marinas From Scratch: Perform hands-on construction and installation of custom floating docks in the water directly at project sites per blueprint specifications.
Rigging & Assembly: Align massive floats into the correct order, fastening hardware, bolts, washers, rods, and lumber using impact wrenches, rubber mallets, and hand tools.
Operate Equipment: Knowledgeably and safely operate machinery and heavy equipment, including forklifts to transport materials across the job site.
Read Site Plans: Interpret structural blueprints and site layouts to ensure precise placement and correct assembly of marine infrastructure.
Collaborate Daily: Work directly under the guidance of your Crew Lead and Construction Project Manager to hit safety and completion goals.
Working hours: Various Shifts Available
Skills:
Because you are building on open water, strong swimming skills are highly recommended.
The ability to maintain high productivity while regularly standing, walking, climbing, balancing, and crawling under extreme conditions, including wet or humid environments and extreme summer heat/sun exposure.
Previous experience in construction, carpentry, pipe-laying, plumbing, or heavy outdoor labor is highly preferred.
Experience using an assortment of construction tools and hardware-such as impact wrenches, rubber mallets, bolts, washers, rods, and lumber-to assemble structures tightly and correctly.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Willingness to travel 75% to 90% of the time. You will be on the move mostly throughout Florida, with broader coastal and international travel opportunities.
High school diploma or equivalent
The ability to read, interpret, and follow structural blueprints and site layout plans to ensure precise placement and assembly of marine infrastructure.
Prior experience operating heavy equipment and machinery, specifically a forklift, to safely transport materials across a job site.
The ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and fundamentals of solid geometry to apply concepts to practical, real-world building situations, including reading a tape measure flawlessly.
