Our construction client in Verona, WI is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team! This position is hybrid (3 days a week onsite, Mondays are mandatory onsite) and pays $100,000 - 125,000 depending on experience. Responsibilities:
- Reviews design documents for completeness, verification of design criteria, coordination, budget, and constructability.
- Develops cost estimates for electrical power, lighting and low voltage systems.
- Performs detailed engineering functions including: engineering calculations, code review, selection and purchasing equipment, and shop drawing review.
- Assists Project Manager with developing a project schedule for the electrical scope of work and contractor bidding through developing documentation, identifying bidders, attending bid meetings onsite, bid review, and contractor selection.
- Reviewing, answering and processing of electrical submittals and questions.
- Coordination with team members and other trades for power requirements, space allocation, facility power outages, start-up of systems and commissioning.
- Travels to client location to oversee construction and start-up.
- Works on multiple projects in a given time period, depending upon project size and deadline.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrates engineering knowledge in some of the following areas: Power Systems, AC Drives, Lighting, Gas Detection, Fire Alarm, lighting control, and Lightning Protection Systems, including performing engineering calculations for the design of power and control systems.
- Ability to understand and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA Codes.
- EIT Certification (Passed the FE Exam) a plus
- Work experience in electrical engineering design or construction is a plus.
- Ability to work well in project team environment, including: willingness to accept responsibility, team player, takes initiative to improve personal and interpersonal skills
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated technical writing skills.
- Ability to travel 30% -50% to customer facilities for client meetings, equipment installation, construction oversight, power shutdown activities, and commissioning, based on experience and project requirements.
