Design, document, and enforce practical internal controls, approval thresholds, standard operating procedures, and segregation of duties. Lead external audit preparations and oversee tracking of Notices to Owner, lien waivers, and releases. -Coordinate tax filings with external advisers and support lender reporting/covenant monitoring. -Drive process automation and system integrations between estimating, operations, timekeeping, payroll, purchasing, billing, and accounting systems. -Standardize the chart of accounts, branch/division codes, and cost categories to ensure consistent operational reporting. -Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.-Establish route and contract profitability reporting for recurring landscape maintenance and environmental accounts, tracking customer margin trends and price adjustments. -Maintain inventory, purchasing, fleet, and equipment cost controls in coordination with operational leadership

-Active CPA designation. -Direct experience in a multi-branch landscaping, construction, or specialty contracting business supporting both project-based construction and recurring service models. -Background in construction accounting practices (retainage, equipment costing, inventory management, WIP schedules). -Hands-on experience implementing or upgrading an ERP, field-service platform, or financial reporting system. -Prior experience operating in a private equity-backed environment or managing lender/board reporting. -Public accounting background combined with operational accounting leadership
-Bachelor???s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of relevant education and substantial accounting leadership experience. - 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years leading an accounting function as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager. -Advanced Excel proficiency and strong experience with ERP/accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite); experience with field-service, estimating, or payroll system integrations is highly valued. -Proven ownership of the financial close, GAAP standards, WIP reporting, backlog, percentage-of-completion accounting, and multi-unit/branch reporting.-Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
