What You’ll Do
Lead Departmental Operations: Oversee daily furnace, generator, and equipment processes to ensure production requirements and quality standards are consistently met.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Drive adherence to the Heat Treat management system, specifically maintaining CQI-9 and customer-specific requirements.
Technical Oversight: Manage vendor reviews and certifications, including quench oil analysis, temperature uniformity surveys (TUS), and system accuracy tests (SAT).
Team Development: Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance while managing departmental scheduling and safety/5S initiatives.
Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot production issues, implementing continuous improvement strategies to optimize pounds/pieces processed.
Data Management: Interpret metallurgical data to meet specifications and maintain precise records of all heat-treating activities.
Corporate Liaison: Represent the plant during monthly corporate heat treat meetings and manage communication regarding maintenance and system updates.
What You’ll Bring
Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Certification or AS degree (or higher) in Metallurgy or a related technical field is preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in heat treat operations, with a strong preference for candidates who have operated under CQI-9 standards.
Leadership: Proven track record in leading teams, conducting performance reviews, and managing personnel development.
Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of metallurgical processes and the ability to interpret complex heat treat data.
Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
