Responsibilities:
Schedule Creation & Maintenance: Develop, publish, and maintain monthly shift schedules for nursing and support staff across multiple departments, ensuring compliance with labor laws and hospital policies.
Daily Adjustments: Dynamically manage call-outs, family medical leave, and census fluctuations by sourcing immediate coverage (float pool, per diem staff, or agency cross-fills).
Compliance Tracking: Monitor credentialing, licensure expiration, and required certifications to ensure no staff member is scheduled without proper compliance.
Time & Attendance Management: Review and reconcile timesheets, track PTO requests, and monitor overtime metrics to report to leadership.
Collaboration: Work closely with Nurse Managers and Clinical Directors to anticipate staffing shortages and optimize workforce utilization.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration or business-related field preferred
Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in medical scheduling, shift coordination, or workforce management within a hospital or large clinical setting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with enterprise scheduling software (e.g., Kronos/UKG, API Healthcare, OnShift, or Care.com Provider) and standard MS Office Suite.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a sharp knack for negotiation.
