Spherion is seeking a Human Resources Assistant for a 2-month contract supporting a local health clinic client in Corning, CA. Under the direction and guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will handle the daily HR administrative duties of the organization and provide clerical support to all employees. The Human Resources Assistant will use discretion and independent judgment to organize work effectively and meet critical administrative deadlines. The pay rate is $23.00 - $24.00 per hour with a rotating monthly schedule (Weeks 1-3: M-Th 9hrs/day, F 4hrs; Week 4: M-F 8hrs/day).

Responsibilities:
Provides support as needed on highly confidential human resource matters and special projects.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource digital and paper files, records, and documentation.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Handles incoming phone calls and monitors the HR email inbox.
Oversees the HR departmentschedules and calendars.
Prepares and distributes correspondence and communications.
Assist in the recruitment process by coordinating job postings and scheduling interviews.
Assist in the coordination of onboarding and orientation for new employees, as well as offboarding.
Assists with the planning and coordinating of staff training programs.
Gathers information, processes employment verifications, employment status changes and informational/confidential forms and records.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other celebrations.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS preferred.
Knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures within a healthcare or non-profit environment preferred.

High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR assistant or in a similar HR support role.
High computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office and other related business and communication tools.
Detailed orientated, accurate, and the ability to work independently.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle employee inquiries and issues effectively.
Demonstrated a high level of efficient time management skills and efficiency in-office procedures.
Excellent command of English language, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Minimum 18 years of age with a Valid California Driver?s License.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and a Department of Justice Fingerprinting clearance.
