ompensation and benefits, training and development, employee relations, affirmative action/equal employment opportunity compliance, and possibly safety or other related areas. Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to HR manager. Work under the general direction of a human resources (HR) manager to support HR programs and policies. Complete personnel transactions and maintain associated records.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition: Own the full recruitment cycle (postings, screenings, background checks, and offers). Partner with hiring managers on competency-based interviewing and manage the entire onboarding experience.
Payroll & Benefits: Execute payroll processing per wage/labor laws. Manage benefits inquiries, wellness programs, and the administration of FMLA and STD paperwork.
Compliance & Reporting: Prepare EEO/AAP documentation and maintain the LMS for training records and HRIS data uploads. Generate ad-hoc reports and manage HR-related invoicing.
Leave & Communication: Coordinate LOA tracking and return-to-work updates for leadership. Manage site-wide announcements and electronic boards to ensure consistent corporate messaging.
Policy Guidance: Provide advice to staff and managers on employment law and company culture. Research HR best practices and participate in performance management projects.
Confidentiality & Professionalism: Maintain the highest level of integrity regarding sensitive organizational changes.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Previous experience in a unionized setting preferred.
Certification and/or License - Human Resources certifications preferred (e.g., SHRM, HRCI).
Education:
High School
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
2 to 5 years of progressive generalist Human Resources experience.
Experience with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge and familiarity with federal, state, and local HR and payroll requirements.
