What will the Lead Cabinet Fabricator do? – will support daily production within a custom fabrication shop specializing in casework, countertops, and specialty millwork. This role is a hands-on leadership position that works closely with the Shop Manager to help coordinate workflow, uphold quality standards, and support the fabrication team on the shop floor. The ideal candidate brings strong technical fabrication experience, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can help guide production while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.
Responsibilities of the Lead Cabinet Fabricator:
- Lead and participate in the fabrication of custom casework, countertops, and millwork components
- Assist with daily production planning and workflow coordination
- Set up and operate woodworking machinery and tools
- Verify materials and finished products meet quality standards and job specifications
- Apply finishes such as stains, paints, varnishes, and lacquers as needed
- Install hardware including hinges, drawer systems, pulls, and specialty accessories
- Support shop organization, material handling, and general housekeeping
- Collaborate with team members to maintain safety and efficiency in the shop
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced fabricators
- Assist with on-site installation support when required, including occasional travel
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Perform additional duties as needed based on production demands
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in casework, cabinetry, or countertop fabrication Working knowledge of woodworking equipment and fabrication processes
- CNC router and edge bander experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work reliably and maintain consistent attendance
- Willingness to travel to job sites when needed, including occasional overnight stays
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
