Macon law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Secretary to join their growing team. Responsibilities:
Case Management: Organize and maintain physical and electronic client files; track deadlines and maintain firm calendars.
Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
Filing: Handle electronic filing (e-filing) in state and federal courts.
Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Administrative Support: Coordinate travel arrangements, schedule depositions, and assist with time entry and billing.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Strong Organizational Systems: A proven ability to manage multiple calendars and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional Proofreading: A keen eye for grammar, punctuation, and legal formatting to ensure all outgoing documents are error-free.
Client-Facing Professionalism: Experience handling sensitive situations with a high degree of empathy and professional "gatekeeping."
Proactive Problem Solving: The ability to anticipate an attorney's needs (e.g., preparing files for a meeting before being asked).
Adaptability: Comfortable learning new office technologies or adjusting to the varying working styles of different attorneys.

Qualifications:
Experience: 1?3 years of experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
