You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce high-precision components for the medical industry. Shifts:
A: Monday - Thursday 7AM - 5:30PM & Friday 7AM - 3:30PM (47 hour work week)
or
B: Monday - Thursday 5:00PM - 5:30AM (47 hour work week)
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate 12 axis Star CNC Swiss lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Perform routine quality checks using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine alarms and issues to maintain production efficiency.
- Change tools, adjust offsets, and maintain machine lubrication and coolant levels.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures, including maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Various Shifts Available)
Skills:
- Medical or Aerospace Experience: Prior experience in the medical device or aerospace industries, demonstrating familiarity with highly regulated environments and extremely tight tolerances.
- Advanced GD&T Interpretation: Strong ability to read and accurately interpret complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols and callouts on engineering drawings.
- G-Code Programming/Editing: Proficiency in reading, understanding, and performing minor G-code edits and adjustments to optimize cycles and correct process issues.
- Exotic Material Machining: Experience working with high-precision or difficult-to-machine materials common in the medical field (e.g., titanium, implant-grade stainless steel, PEEK).
- Advanced Inspection Tool Use: Familiarity with sophisticated quality inspection equipment beyond handheld tools, such as optical comparators, video measurement systems (e.g., OGP), or CMMs.
- Proactive Troubleshooting: A proven history of not just resetting machine alarms, but diagnosing and solving root cause issues related to tool wear, thermal drift, and surface finish.
- Star Machine Expertise: Specific in-depth experience with a wider range of Star CNC Swiss-type lathes and their proprietary controls.

Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years of experience operating CNC Swiss-type lathes in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the medical or aerospace industry is a plus.
- Proficient use of handheld quality inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators, etc.)
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precise components.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
