Responsibilities:
Assembly, Stacking & Tanking:

Assemble Main, PT, and Reactor cores, sub-assemblies, connections, and covers using blueprints, engineering drawings, visual operating procedures (VOP), and bills of materials (BOM).

Load cores and coils onto stacking lines, stack cores around coil legs, and anchor core/coil assemblies into transformer tanks.

Install component parts and sub-assemblies (e.g., leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands).

Execute assembly operations across work centers including Tank-Up, casing, small parts, vacuum chamber, cover bander, palletizing, paint booth, and tank unhang.

Fabrication, Testing & Machine Operation:

Set up, adjust, and operate fabrication and welding equipment, including projection/seam welders, horn presses, shears, brakes, flanges, expanders, cover punches, brazing tools, hydraulic presses, and crimp tools.

Load, operate, and unload vacuum systems and temperature-checking equipment.

Conduct ratio and connection testing on finished units using a TTR Tester; perform leak checks, troubleshoot leaking units, and manage fluid/oil checks.

Rework damaged or nonconforming components and complete assemblies to meet quality benchmarks.

Material Handling & Logistics:

Operate overhead cranes, hoists, powered industrial trucks (forklifts), pallet jacks, and work savers to transport heavy materials and finished products.

Position, hang, and remove transformer tanks and components on/off powered conveyors.

Label, band, and stack units onto pallets; scan units based on shipping schedules to generate oven loading sequences.

Safety, Quality & Maintenance:

Conduct routine maintenance on tools, machinery, and equipment.

Adhere to environmental safety guidelines for chemical, paint, and waste handling/disposal.

Actively participate in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and 5S+ housekeeping initiatives.

Achieve target production rates and perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: No formal education required (High School Diploma or GED preferred).

Experience: Prior experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or machine operation preferred.

Technical Skills:

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, winding sheets, and written instructions.

Proficiency in basic math calculations.

Hands-on experience with manual/power hand tools, measuring devices, and heavy equipment.

Soft Skills: Effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic.

Physical & Environmental Demands

Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. independently and handle medium-to-heavy materials. Physical tasks include standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, grabbing, and lifting.

Work Environment: In-person manufacturing shop floor environment subject to variable heat, noise, and fumes.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required use of safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, over-the-elbow sleeves, steel-toe footwear, and metatarsal guards as mandated.
