Spherion has an immediate direct opening for a Maintenance Technician, servicing several commercial and residential rental properties in Lafayette, LA. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for working with a maintenance team to keep office buildings, retail centers, and housing unit spaces safe, clean, and working properly. They fix daily problems, run routine checks, and help commercial and residential tenants.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5 with 1 hour lunch
Pay Rate: $15/hr.
Properties consist of:
4 Office Buildings
Shopping Center with 20 stores
5 Rental Houses
1 Apartment Complex
Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute basic routine inspections of HVAC systems, mechanical rooms, roofs, plumbing, and electrical distribution panels.
- Tenant Repairs: Respond promptly to tenant work orders involving lighting, ballasts, door hardware, plumbing fixtures, drywall patching, and basic interior repairs.
- Turnover / Make-Ready Units: Prepare vacant apartments or homes for new residents, including drywall patching, painting, light fixture replacements, and appliance testing.
- Grounds Keeping: (not lawn service) such as pick up trash, mop sidewalks, watering the plants, changing flags, etc.
- Run Errands
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Comprehensive HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing skills is a plus.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of maintenance experience
- Valid Driver?s license
- Reliable transportation to get to and from work, as well as other rental properties (gas card is provided).
- Friendly and professional demeanor
