Job Summary & Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Assembler, you are the "custom builder" of the production line. You will be responsible for transforming chassis into specialized work vehicles.
Vehicle Upfitting: Install and mount custom truck bodies onto various vehicle chassis.
Fabrication: Operate shop equipment to cut, bend, saw, and punch steel parts for precision mounting.
Hydraulic Systems: Assemble and install complex hydraulic components, including Power Take-Offs (PTOs) and pumps.
Electrical Integration: Assist with basic electrical systems and wiring for truck body functionality.
Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly follow all OSHA safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements:
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Industry Background: 1–2 years of experience in vehicle installation, mechanical assembly, or a related automotive field.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with hydraulics, PTOs, pumps, and electrical wiring.
Bonus Skills: Experience with Wire Feed Welding or Hand Plasma Cutting is a significant plus!
Continuous Improvement: Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and a willingness to improve processes.
Qualifications:
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret job specifications, engineering drawings, and use precision measuring tools.
Math Proficiency: Strong math skills for accurate machine setup and part measurements.
Physicality: Capable of manually handling materials up to 50 lbs and safely operating hoists.
Mindset: A team-oriented professional committed to safety, quality, and efficiency.
