Responsibilities:
Welding Operations: Perform MIG welding on carbon steel structural components using .045 hard wire.
Positioning: Execute horizontal and vertical downhill welds specifically (no uphill welding required).
Technical Interpretation: Follow blueprints, technical drawings, and specific work instructions to ensure accuracy.
Equipment Usage: Operate various fabrication tools including drill presses, handheld plasma cutters, acetylene torches, and upright band saws.
Quality Control: Use a tape measure to verify dimensions and maintain consistent weld quality and shop safety standards.
Maintenance: Keep the individual work area clean and organized to ensure a productive shop flow.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Specialized Knowledge: Prior experience specifically welding carbon steel structural components.
Tool Familiarity: Proficiency with .045 hard wire and the ability to read basic blueprints.
Measurement: Advanced comfort using a tape measure for precision fabrication.
Equipment Mastery: Previous experience with shop machinery (plasma cutters, torches, saws).
