Spherion is seeking a Packaging Associate I for opportunities in East Providence, RI. This position is responsible for inspecting, assembling, and packaging products while following established quality, safety, and production procedures.

Inspect, assemble, count, and package products into designated bags and boxes.

Follow packaging instructions, bills of materials, and established production standards.
Operate counting scales, box taping machines, labeling machines, specialized fixtures, and packaging equipment.
Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished packages.
Identify and remove defective or nonconforming items.
Accurately record production and quality data.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow required safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Move completed products from the packaging area to the warehouse.
Perform basic preventive maintenance on packaging equipment.
Communicate potential problems and provide feedback on processes or process changes.
Suggest ideas that may improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Cross-train in other production areas and provide support when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
High school diploma or GED.
Previous manufacturing or production experience.
Experience operating packaging or labeling equipment.
Experience with quality checks or product inspection.
Experience with basic mechanical equipment or preventive maintenance.
Education:
High School

1-4 years
Qualifications:
Basic mechanical ability.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English for work and safety requirements.
Ability to follow written instructions and established procedures.
Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work accurately in a production environment.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
