Responsibilities:
Maintain, organize, and manage physical and electronic case files from client intake through post-trial resolution using Clio.
Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, subpoenas, petitions, accountings, and orders related to probate and guardianship matters.
Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, drafting trial briefs, preparing deposition summaries, and coordinating witness schedules.
Handle electronic filings (e-filing) across various civil court jurisdictions; track and maintain master court calendars and litigation deadlines.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, court clerks, opposing counsel, and third parties under attorney supervision.
Conduct factual and legal research, case law searches, and asset searches relevant to ongoing probate and civil litigation matters.
Receive, synthesize, and execute detailed procedural instructions from supervising attorneys promptly and accurately.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Strong familiarity with WordPerfect and hands-on experience using Clio legal practice management software.
Hands-on exposure to probate, guardianship administration, and general civil trial work.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law office or legal environment.
Demonstrated familiarity with civil proceedings, including legal terminology, court procedures, and filing protocols.
Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, analyze, and draft legal documents with high confidence and clarity.
Exceptional meticulousness and organizational skills, with a zero-tolerance mindset for filing or scheduling errors.
Ability to listen actively, follow nuanced instructions efficiently, and adapt quickly to shifting case needs.
