The Specialty Pharmacy Technician assists in processing specialty prescriptions, coordinating insurance approvals, and managing complex medication logistics for patients with chronic or rare conditions.

Responsibilities:
Insurance & Financial Assistance: Process complex drug claims, submit prior authorizations (PAs), and enroll patients in co-pay assistance or grant programs.
Prescription Processing: Enter, count, label, and package specialized injectables and biologics under pharmacist supervision.
Inventory & Compliance: Maintain high-cost inventory and comply with state board, HIPAA, and accreditation standards (URAC/ACHC).
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Become proficient in all software utilized in the pharmacies.
Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds

4-7 years
Qualifications:
Certification: Active State Pharmacy Technician Registration AND Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required.
Experience: 1???2+ years of pharmacy experience (specialty, home infusion, or mail-order preferred).
Skills: Proficiency in prior authorizations, cold-chain handling, pharmacy software, and compassionate patient communication.
