Spherion Staffing is hiring Production Helpers for a manufacturer/ machine shop in Wichita Falls, TX! The Production Helper provides hands-on support across multiple manufacturing operations, including press, shear, roll forming, seam welding, quality control, and shipping. This role is responsible for material handling, alignment, staging, light fabrication support, and housekeeping to ensure smooth production flow and safe operations. Responsibilities:
PRODUCTION/ FABRICATION SUPPORT:
- Assist press operators by positioning, aligning, staging, and feeding material for pressing operations.
- Support shear operators by loading, unloading, squaring, and aligning material for shearing operations.
- Assist roll operators by guiding and supporting material through roll forming equipment.
- Support seam welders by guiding sheets or coils of metal through seam welding machines.
- Perform basic tack welding to hold sheet metal assemblies prior to seam welding (as trained/authorized).
- Prepare, stage, and transport materials between operations to maintain efficient production flow.
MATERIAL HANDLING/ INVENTORY:
- Locate, pull, verify, and deliver materials and supplies listed on production work orders.
- Move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, or cranes.
- Signal or assist machine operators during material loading and unloading when required.
- Maintain organized material staging areas to prevent delays or mix-ups.
QUALITY CONTROL SUPPORT:
- Assist Quality Control personnel by moving materials into and out of inspection areas.
- Support testing activities as directed, including holding material and recording results.
- Ensure inspected materials are properly identified and routed.
SHIPPING SUPPORT:
- Assist with shipping duties including staging finished goods, loading trucks, and verifying quantities as instructed.
HOUSEKEEPING/ SAFETY:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment, aisles, and loading docks.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment issues promptly.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Skills:
- Ability to safely handle metal materials and perform physical work.
- Teamwork, communication, and safety awareness.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing or fabrication experience required.
- Forklift and/or pallet jack experience
