We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to manage project-based financial operations for a local client. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of the office and the field, ensuring the multi-million dollar utility projects remain financially accurate and compliant.

Full-Cycle Accounting: Maintain the general ledger, manage AP/AR, and perform monthly reconciliations of bank, credit, and loan accounts.
Detailed Job Costing: Track costs by project and phase; allocate labor, equipment, and materials to specific cost codes to monitor budget vs. actual variances.
Progress Billing: Prepare and manage complex billings (including AIA formats, owner-specific templates, and retainage tracking).
Compliance & Payroll: Process job-costed payroll, including Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage reporting.
Contract Management: Manage lien waivers, certificates of insurance (COI), W-9s, and subcontractor pay applications.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Experience: 3+ years of dedicated bookkeeping experience, specifically within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
Software Proficiency: Proven background in construction accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of retainage, change orders, and lien laws.
Communication: Ability to work effectively with Project Managers and Field Supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
Certification: Must currently be a Notary Public or be willing to obtain commission shortly after hire.

Direct experience with Pulte invoicing and workflows.
