      A Metal manufacturer in Midland is seeking to drastically expand their team and are looking for General Laborers, Paint Line Techs, Press Brake Operators, and Welders! This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a company if you have an interest in getting some metalworking experience under your belt! Ideal candidates should have some experience with Welding or Press Brake Operation (6+ months) or the necessary certifications. Primary hours will be 5:30am-4pm (Days), but they will be starting a Night Shift as well: 3:30pm-2:00am Monday-Thursday with overtime as needed on Fridays and Saturdays. This is a temp-hire opportunity if a solid work ethic and reliable attendance record has been demonstrated! Competitive benefits and profit-sharing with the company makes for a great career-minded company!Responsibilities:Removing sheet metal from the laser deck after it has been burned/ cut/ processed.Removing various part components from the metal sheet and separating them based on type.Disposing of the scrap remnants of the burned metal sheet into a scrap hopper for recycling, to be taken to a scrap yard.Grinding edges of metal smooth with use of various grinders or hand tools.Operating a drill press as needed to process the metal parts.Operating a Press Brake machine to bend the 2D components into 3D. This is very detailed work and will typically need someone with this type of experience.MIG welding parts according to paperwork and blueprint specificationsHanging parts on the paint line with hooks as directed; Parts may range from 0-50Lbs and occasionally involve a team lift if the part surpasses 50Lbs.Removing parts from the paint line and stacking carefully by different parts groups to avoid damage to the paint.Assembly of components into finished products ranging from lab tables, distribution stations, etc. Assembly may including wiring or electrical components.Carefully inspecting the components as they are assembled for relevant defects and to ensure they are the correct components needed for the job.Palletizing and completing table orders and wrapping them prior to moving them to the staging area for shipmentAfter more seniority, an Assembly Worker may also work inside the paint booth with a paint gun to apply powder-coating material as the parts move through the paint line process. Company provides a paint suit and respirator for this work and will train on how to properly use a paint gun sprayer.Maintaining a clean and organized work area to promote overall safety as well as perform various related tasks as needed and directed by supervisorsSkills:A background working with metal such as Welding, Fabricating, or Press Brake OperationAbility to remain on feet for 10-hour shift with regular bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, and carrying up to 50Lbs.***A background as a team leader or in another supervisory capacity may also be desired for senior openings.Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years of ageMust have reliable transportationMust comply with Spherion's Drug Free Workplace Policy and disclose relevant criminal history at the time of hireInterested in metalworking?
