Responsible for processing, scheduling and coordinating all pre-operative appointments in a timely manner. 11. Responsible for obtaining referral prior authorizations from insurance companies. 12. Functions as a patient advocate. Is proactive in addressing patient needs and trouble shooting patient concerns. 13. Strives for excellence in customer service. Schedules patient appointments in coordination with provider and nurse. 2. Schedules and tracks specialty and lab referrals as order by the provider. 3. Answers and dispatches provider line calls as per Healthworks provider line protocol. 4. Arranges transportation for the patient as needed. 5. Responsible for distributing, scanning and collecting incoming and outgoing mail for assigned providers. 6. Scans all patient related paper documents into patient electronic medical records daily. 7. Empties the fax inbox and attach documents to patient electronic medical records daily. 8. Verifies that all patients medical records are received according to the terms specified in the Medical Record Release Protocol. Obtains any records that are needed from other medical offices, hospitals, or specialists. 9. Requests/provides documents per physician request. 10. Responsible for processing, scheduling and coordinating all pre-operative appointments in a timely manner. 11. Responsible for obtaining referral prior authorizations from insurance companies. 12. Functions as a patient advocate. Is proactive in addressing patient needs and trouble shooting patient concerns. 13. Strives for excellence in customer service. Consistently demonstrates cultural competence and sensitivity. 14. Willingness to be cross-trained and work as needed in other positions such as patient registration, reception, etc. 15. Uses professional knowledge to promote good judgment, decision making, and casework skills. The ability to independently process complex cases efficiently and correctly as required. 16. Other duties that may be assigned by management that will benefit the quality of care and safety of the patient.
