Spherion Staffing & Recruiting has an immediate need for a full-time SOLDERING TECHNICIAN for a local manufacturing company. This individual should be self-motivated, looking for a long-term career, work well in independent and time sensitive situations, and pay attention to detail.This individual performs a variety of functions in the production process including electronic Assembly and Soldering operations on components, sub-assemblies and circuit board assemblies.Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30am-5:00pm, overtime is a mustPay Rate: $14.00 / hr to start- salary increases to $15.00 hr when permanentResponsibilities:-Installs, solders, and inspects through-hole components, wires in circuit boards per documentation and IPC workmanship standards.-Reads production routing paperwork, follows electronic drawings and/or receives verbal instructions regarding operations to be performed.-Inspects component parts prior to assembly and rejects defective parts against written, verbal or graphical instructions.-Reviews workmanship and reports defects in order to improve quality.-Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; observing control points to look for bottlenecks.-Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing the organization quality standards and ISO 9001/14001 procedures and Quality Management Systems.-Setup the production equipment and supplies before executing the production orders.-Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.-Inspect equipment and hand tools to identify any replacements, malfunctions and repairs.-Recommend process improvements to enhance production efficiency and safety by using the Preventative and Corrective Action Request (CAR) system.-Must be able to identify and discern various electrical and electronic components and markings which are often in small text, symbols or faint markings.Working hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:- Attention to detail- Ability to sit for 8+ hours- Must be willing to submit to full background and drug screen- 1-3 years of experience in through-hole soldering is required for considerationLanguage Skills- Ability to read and write in English.- Ability to fill out process travelers.- Ability to fill out CAR's.Education:High SchoolExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:- Excellent history of attendance and communication- Good work ethic and positive attitude- Must be able to operate hand tools, power tools, and/or production equipment- Must be able to solder electrical / electronic components to circuit boards and/or wires and other components- Able to lift up to 50lbs- Must be able to pass a color vision test- Must be able to read resistor codes as well as understand schematics with limited assistance- Must be able to work with leaded and lead-free solders- Ability to utilize Windows programs such as Excel, Word, Access, and Internet applications.
