The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the facility's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring that all products manufactured at this facility meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This exempt, salaried position will work closely with all departments and external stakeholders as an integral part of the team. This role works closely with production, management, and technical teams to ensure consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of quality and food safety systems. This individual will manage and direct two quality technicians and participate in the selection, onboarding, and managing of additional hires as needed.

Responsibilities:
- QMS & Compliance Management: Maintain and improve the facility QMS in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 and GFSI/SQF standards (Global Food Safety Initiative/Safe Quality Food.). Manage quality documentation, records, procedures, and corrective actions.
- Audits & Customer Relations: Lead and manage internal, customer, certification, and third-party audits. Track findings and execute corrective/preventive actions.
- Production Quality Assurance: Partner with senior management to set quality benchmarks, develop QA control procedures, monitor manufacturing processes, and oversee all finished product testing.
- Food Safety Culture: Promote, support, and continuously improve the facility's food safety management systems. Review regulatory food safety compliance and escalate concerns when identified.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute cost-effective operational efficiencies and process improvements to elevate product consistency and productivity.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and direct two quality technicians, handling onboarding, selection, and future talent management. Serve as the strategic backup to the Director of Quality.
Skills:
- Prior experience in a Quality Manager role with direct supervisory responsibility.
- Serving as the primary quality contact for customers and regulatory bodies.
- Professional certifications such as SQF Practitioner, ASQ (CQE, CQA), or ISO Lead Auditor.

Bachelors or extensive experience

- 4-7 years with a degree
- 8 - 10 year of experience without a degree
Qualifications:
- Degree Track: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology) PLUS 5???7 years of progressive manufacturing/production quality experience.
- Non-Degree Track: 8 - 10 years of progressive manufacturing/production quality experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- Proven background building, maintaining, and auditing a QMS under GFSI (SQF, BRCGS) and ISO 9001:2015 frameworks.
- Practical experience managing customer, certification, and third-party audits.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Proficiency with business software and computer systems (Microsoft Office).
