The Quality Control position is a critical, hands-on role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and efficiency throughout the warehouse order fulfillment process. This position focuses on proactive problem-solving and meticulous verification to prevent shipment errors and maximize picker productivity. Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
? Order Accuracy: Conduct thorough audits of packed orders against the original customer order to ensure 100% order accuracy before shipment.
? Picking Verification: Validate that all items staged for packing precisely match the corresponding pick sheet, verifying correct product, quantity, and lot/serial numbers as required.
? Packing Compliance: Inspect the entire packing process to confirm that all required standard operating procedures (SOPs) have been correctly followed.
? Bottleneck Removal: Focus on performing the "extra things" that often delay or stop pickers, thereby maximizing their throughput and efficiency.
? Item Location: Quickly and accurately locate hard-to-find or mislocated items within the warehouse to prevent delays in order assembly.
? Inventory & Data Integrity:
o Proactively update internal Excel spreadsheets or Warehouse Management System (WMS) records with crucial inventory data, location changes, or stock discrepancies.
o Utilize warehouse software and equipment to print necessary labels, stickers, or specific compliance documentation (e.g., hazmat, special handling instructions) on demand.
? Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve logistical issues, system errors, or physical stock problems that impede the fulfillment flow.
? Maintain precise and detailed QC logs and documentation of audits, identified errors, and corrective actions taken.
? Report systemic issues, recurring errors, and quality trends to the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor for process improvement initiatives.
? Assist with cycle counting and physical inventory verification as needed to support data accuracy.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Required Skills and Qualifications
? Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of extensive, hands-on experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center environment, preferably in a QC, Inventory Control, or Lead/Auditor role.
? Mathematical Proficiency: Strong mathematical skills are essential for accurate counting, measurement, conversion, and discrepancy calculation (e.g., unit-of-measure conversions, stock counts, weight verification).
? Problem-Solving: Proven ability to apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to rapidly diagnose complex logistical issues and implement effective, on-the-spot solutions.
? Technical Aptitude: Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory scanning tools, and PC applications, particularly Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and basic analysis.
? Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality control and compliance.
? Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills for relaying information clearly to management and collaborating effectively with the picking and packing teams.
? Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 55 lbs.).
