Perform in-process, final, dimensional, and visual inspections of precision-manufactured components.Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.Use precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, depth gages, indicators, plug and thread gages, and inspection fixtures.Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface conditions, and product specifications.Inspect machined components, assemblies, castings, forgings, weldments, and finished products.Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming material or workmanship.Complete inspection reports, measurement records, and quality documentation.Work with Production and Engineering teams to address quality issues.Assist with rework and inspection of nonconforming parts when needed.Maintain accurate inspection records and product traceability.Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.Maintain a clean and organized inspection area.
1-4 years
Experience inspecting aerospace components or assemblies.Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Experience with CMMs or other automated inspection equipment.Experience inspecting precision-machined components.Familiarity with machining processes such as milling, turning, drilling, grinding, or similar operations.Knowledge of AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards.Experience with nonconformance reports and rework documentation.Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify dimensional and visual defects.Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in quality inspection or dimensional inspection within a manufacturing environment.Previous aerospace experience required.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection gauges.Ability to accurately measure components and verify results against specifications.Knowledge of basic mathematics, including fractions and decimals.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to document inspection results clearly.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
