      The Laboratory Intern, under the direction of the Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager, provides support to the factory in chemical and microbiological analysis for finished product and raw materials. The position requires knowledge of basic chemical and microbiological methods and technology. This position also requires effective communication skills to work with a variety of cross-functional customers (QA, Operations, auditors, regulators).Responsibilities:-Assist factory laboratory in chemical and nutritional examinations including, but not limited to testing moisture, solids, minerals, and vitamins. As well as, microbiological examinations including but not limited to EB, APC, pH and other related analysis-Support laboratory technicians in sampling, preparing solutions and media, and analytical method monitoring-Prepares, reviews, and reports of analyses; maintain and document records according to Good Lab and Manufacturing Practices meeting regulatory requirements for data recording and review-Cleans-up and general maintenance of laboratory and work area to ensure Good Laboratory Practices-Performs other duties as assignedWorking hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMSkills:-Effective communicator with training and facilitation skills-Problem solving skills-Must be capable of working with minimal direct supervision and have strong prioritization, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills-Computer skills to include proficiency with the Microsoft Word and Excel required. SAP and Statistical software experience (Q Stat) is preferred-Knowledge in laboratory analyses-Ability to work flexible hours including weekendsEducation:High SchoolExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:Undergraduate coursework including Chemical and/or Microbiological labs and Instrumental Analysis or equivalent work experience.Employee must support and comply with company programs and policies, including, affirmative action goals and commitments. This position is much more than a reception position. It will also handle various other responsibilities listed below. We are looking for a person to come in and to own this position. To understand that each interaction we have is just as important as the last. That cares about the well-being of customers and has a high level of commitment to excellence.
