        Saginaw company searching for a highly motivated, innovative thinker, seasoned mechanical engineer to help facilitate the building of new business segments through the development of design and customer solutions. This new role will be responsible for supporting the sales team as they pursue new opportunities with a large portion of that support coming in the form of developing a catalog of available axle configurations supplied by company.Candidate will be responsible for developing a road-map of trailer axle design offerings. This roadmap will have synergy with the years of axle products manufactured to customer specific requirements, and provide focused offerings that target specific application segments. Technologies involved include axle structures, leaf-spring/torsion axle variations, electric and hydraulic braking mechanisms, and other general market-driven specifics.Responsibilities:Create application design proposalsCollaborate with and develop vendors and supply sourcesEnsure mechanical fit of all componentsInterpret and apply tolerance features and methodsSelf-check completed assignments and cross check co-workers completed assignments for fit, accuracy, functionality and manufacturabilityDevelop product manuals and test plansProject managementSupport the Manufacturing Department in various capacities including aiding in the production, assembly and testing of new and existing products.Identify and implement required changes to resolve field problems and improve product performance, reliability and manufacturability.Skills:Working knowledge of axle systems, braking systems, and basic chassis module applicationsKnowledge of ERP / MRP systemsAbility to work at a high level within cross-departmental teams or individuallyAbility to work on a multitude of projects at one time and prioritizeExcellent verbal and written skillsUnderstanding of process flows, PFMEA and fabrication technologiesAbility to proficiently use manual inspection equipment (such as calipers, micrometers, etc.)Qualifications:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 5 years experience in industryGreat Opportunity in Saginaw County!Spherion has helped thousands of people just like you find work happiness!
