We are seeking a dedicated leader to manage the day-to-day operations of our Shipping & Receiving department. This role combines team leadership, inventory management, logistics coordination, and process improvement to ensure the accurate and efficient flow of materials and finished goods. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, develop and mentor employees, optimize processes using Lean principles, and help drive operational excellence across the organization.

What You'll Do
- Receive incoming freight and enter highly accurate receiving information into the mainframe/ERP system to maintain precise inventory control
- Determine work priorities, prepare work schedules, expedite workflow, and assign daily duties. Monitor work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies
- Partner with corporate managers and supervisors to ensure seamless coordination of special mailings, inventory management, and quality assurance
- Study and standardize procedures to assure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of all shipping and receiving functions using Lean principles
- Analyze shipping needs to determine the best methods of shipment (packaging and transportation). Negotiate with shipping vendors and logistics companies to secure the best service and pricing
- Maintain and update all shipping records, and step in to perform Shipping and Receiving Clerk duties as needed
- Maintain discipline, resolve problems, evaluate performance, and recommend promotions, transfers, or dismissals while coaching, counseling, and mentoring staff
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced shipping/receiving or manufacturing environment
- High proficiency with ERP/SAP software is strongly preferred. Previous forklift experience is required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
- Sharp attention to detail, strong basic math skills, and demonstrated self-motivation
- Fluency reading, writing, and speaking English with the ability to efficiently coordinate work across multiple departments and interact with freight carriers/drivers
- Prior exposure to a fast-paced Lean manufacturing environment is highly valued
