The Professional/Direct Hire Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is partnered with a strong and growing organization in Richland County, Ohio, to find an experienced Sourcing Specialist to support strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier development efforts across warehouse, operational, and service-related procurement needs. This role offers a competitive salary range of $80K–$100K, based on experience, along with a competitive benefits package.

What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, or procurement, ideally within distribution, manufacturing, or industrial supply environments.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and develop supplier relationships while negotiating competitive pricing, lead times, and terms.
• Experience conducting RFQs, supplier comparisons, and market research to identify reliable and cost-effective sourcing options.
• Strong attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate item master data and product records within ERP systems.
• Experience organizing or managing item categorization systems, product catalogs, or structured procurement databases.
• Proficiency working within ERP systems and procurement platforms, with strong data management skills. Experience with NetSuite or RF Smart is a plus.
• Strong understanding of supply chain best practices, including cost analysis, supplier performance evaluation, lead time management, and procurement reporting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, inventory, procurement, and leadership teams to align sourcing decisions with operational needs.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously.
• Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or other supply chain or procurement credentials are a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

The Sourcing Specialist will play a key role in identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating favorable agreements, maintaining accurate product and supplier records, and supporting internal catalog and item classification initiatives that improve purchasing visibility and operational efficiency.
Key Focus Areas in This Role
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers and sourcing opportunities to support operational purchasing needs.
• Conduct supplier research, RFQs, and cost comparisons to ensure competitive pricing and dependable supply.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and supplier agreements to support cost savings and operational continuity.
• Maintain and update item master records and product data within ERP systems, ensuring accurate descriptions, supplier information, lead times, and procurement details.
• Lead and support product categorization and internal catalog organization efforts, improving data structure, searchability, and reporting capabilities.
• Partner closely with inventory, procurement, and operational teams to align sourcing decisions with demand requirements and operational priorities.
• Monitor supplier performance, including delivery reliability, product quality, and pricing stability.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, or alternative sourcing strategies while maintaining quality and supply continuity.
• Assist with resolving supplier-related issues, including order discrepancies, quality concerns, or delivery challenges.
• Support procurement reporting and supplier performance tracking to help drive continuous improvement and informed purchasing decisions.
