Perform TIG welding on precision components and assemblies.Set up and operate TIG welding equipment according to job requirements.Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.Select appropriate welding parameters, materials, filler metals, and techniques.Weld components to required specifications and dimensional tolerances.Inspect completed welds for appearance, quality, and defects.Perform visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring tools.Make adjustments to welding settings to maintain consistent weld quality.Prepare, clean, fit, and position parts prior to welding.Identify and report welding defects, material issues, or quality concerns.Perform rework when required to meet quality specifications.Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.Maintain a clean and organized work area.
1-4 years
Previous aerospace manufacturing or aerospace welding experience.Experience welding stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, or other specialty metals.Experience with precision or production TIG welding.Familiarity with welding procedures and specifications.Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Experience working with thin-gauge materials.Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards.Welding certifications or formal welding training.Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous TIG welding experience.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.Ability to understand weld symbols and welding specifications.Experience setting up and adjusting TIG welding equipment.Ability to work with precision components and tight tolerances.Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.Ability to identify weld defects and perform necessary corrections.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to work 2nd shift.
